Postcard Friendship Friday

I didn't let my children watch "The Simpson" for a very long time. Like I think Daniel was in grade eight, and for reasons which I shall not get into they convinced me to do so. Of course I had to watch with them, just because that's how I am. I'm a born censorship mom. I remember the first episode they watched was one about the 4th of July. "what better way to celebrate the birth of your country, than by blowing a piece of it up," in reference to the fire works. Anyway, then that led to the cartoon viewing, so now I'm into Captain America. So in honor of Canada Day and the 4th of July Happy Independence Day to all, and most of all Happy Postcard Friendship Friday.

photo of a postcard I own.

Hey, I still TiVo Leave It to Beaver (and Patty Duke, The Outer Limits, all kinds of good stuff) and watch them on my black-and-white TV. It's my way to protest Hollywood continuing to mess with my childhood memories.

I was one of the censoring moms too. We rarely had the TV on and when we did it was usually PBS or one of the educational channels.....or news. Funny thing...when my girls left home, they never bought a TV or asked for one. I think my oldest now has a TV.....but I don't think she watches it much.

Great postcard!

Have a beautiful weekend

I had the same thing going on with The Simpsons and my children too. When I finally relaxed the rules, David won a public speaking contest talking about The Simpsons. This left me feeling proud as a mom, but really embarassed that everyone now knew I'd compromised myself.

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my wonderful son,  it's bee 33wonderful years. Hope this year proves to be the best yet.
