Here's mine
"Yeah." That was my curse. I was always better with words on paper than I was with actually talking to people. Especially the people closest to me.
"You should tell David," she said. "Maybe..."
I shook my head. "No. I don't want - " I broke off. "I don't think It's something that I want to talk to him about yet. My dad dying..."
Bedtime Story, Robert J. Wiersema
Shonna mentioned that this was a very good book, she is VERY CORRECT. It's a Chunckster though, and I've been very busy with other stuff, so finishing is going to down right kill me.

Having my own father die, I know what she means.
Thanks for participating!
Hmm, can't tell but the book sounds really serious.
My book beginning is part of my book review for the wonderful historical novel: Between Shades of Gray.
Hmm. I don't know enough about this book to feel anything much about the selection you provided yet. Did you like this book? Should we try it?
I am the same way. I can write things out just fine, but talking? Not so much. Great teaser!
That was such a good book!
That quote's pretty true - sometimes it's easier to write something than to say it.
Irene. Thanks for dropping by my blog. If your mother is a Siberia survivor, you should certainly read the book Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. Though the topic is very depressing, it is beautifully written and it will undoubtedly give you insights into what your mother may have had to deal with. How long was she in Siberia? Did she leave Russia after that?

Sounds very interesting Irene.
As a couple of your readers agree, me too...I find it easier to write than talk. Definitely a teaser for me...will have to add to my "to be read" book list!
Have grandchildren and family here. Brain super occupied!
I love long books, especially if they are good, dear Irene! I should read more.
Hi Irene,
I just love the emotion of those first lines, they would definitely make me want to know more.
In fact, they did, so I checked out the author page and already have him on my reading list.
I can imagine that all his books will be very intense reads, that demand great levels of thought and concentration.
I also love the synopsis for 'Before I Wake', so that's another definite.
Thanks for sharing.
Yvonne
