Pimp my ride...

I've been a stay at home mom for more years than I care to count. And while I'm no longer legally bound to look after my children, things do come up. I've been trying to catch up to house work, and scrapping and painting and you name it, forever. I just can't seem to get it together, so I leave and go do something else, like visit my mother. If she was in her real mind, she might appreciate the efforts her children go to to keep her "special". Happy we gave up a long time ago on. Anyway, I read a wonderful post at Amazing Paper Grace on taking photos of your cards/art work and thought I'd set myself up in my son's bedroom (as he's away on course now) and take a few shots of my cards, instead of keeping a sample. Then, like Becca, when someone, like my brother-in-law asks me what I do all day I can just hand him my newly published book. Well my camera sucks.... I had intended to buy myself a camera with my inheritance, never happened. So I thought o.k. I'll get a better camera this summer when my income tax refund comes in. Well since my wonderful son is off on course and he didn't want to lose his apartment over the summer, he's paying rent for it even though he is not there, a typical thing for students, but now I'm thinking he's probably not going to have enough money for school if he's having double expenses, so I'm hanging on to my meager refund and no camera as yet. Since his dad, my husband, thinks he should have thought of all this before he blew his scholarship, he's not very forthcoming with the cash. So, while I want him to learn to use his hard earned money wisely, do I let him miss yet another year of school and the last towards his degree for a few $$$$$$$$$$$. And then, the other day I'm lurking on facebook and what do I see

I think I may just pimp him out, that'll pay for school.

So I'm thinking one of two things, by the time I actually don't have to supplement him and am able to buy this camera, am I still going to have enough cranial activity to operate it. or two should I just declare the August long weekend a gift giving holiday and buy myself a camera on my husbands tab. The second really does sound good, the suggestion came from Jen at Find your next book Here, who thought July 4th should be such a holiday. Hmmm....

Get the camera on your husband's dime. Think of it as an early Christmas present.

Hi Irene,
My vote is GET THE CAMERA!! I had been looking for one like mine forever and it just happened to appear one day in a Walmart so I knew it was meant to be. I LOVE IT!!!! I really need to learn how to use it better, but I still love it!
Hugs~

Well, I didn't get to make July 4th a gift giving holiday this year ... but maybe you managed it???? I just cracked up at the idea of pimping out your son!! : )

And my husband would be just like yours ... I'm such a softie like that.

Here's hoping Labor Day nets you that camera!
