It's Monday What are you Reading?

Had to give up on Blown Red, just too much for me at this time, with having just finished Pretty Girls.  Excellently written, riveting, sitting on the edge of your seat action.  But, I just need a comfort read right now.  Got about 2/3 through it, and just couldn't continue...

SO...
just a nice tidy little murder mystery, in lovely Three Pines.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Both of those books are new to me. I've always been a lover of mystery and thrillers, especially Stephen King, but since my husband passed away I only want to read lighter books.

Louise Penny is a favorite. Enjoy!

I just bought ROOTS and plan to read it before the remake of the mini-series starts later this month.

I had to do the same, I read back to back suspense/thrillers and needed to switch gears. I'm reading a family saga.

Hello Vicki, I arrived here by Postcard Friendship Friday and Beth, and I do like the idea of 'What are you reading'? But sorry, I don't know any of the books you're reading at the moment. And I guess you've never heard of mine: the translation of a Swedish book: A Man Called Ove. About a grumpy 59-years old man who wants to put an end to his life. But a cat and his new neighbours prevent all his attempts. Funny but also heartwarming. Your dislike of the man changes into sympathy until finally he is your ultimate old-fashioned hero.

A comfort read sounds good to me. I haven't read any of Louise Penny's books - are they among your favourites?

Dear Irene, I can't seem to read three paragraphs of anything before I'm distracted and/or interrupted. I long for a whole day to read. xoxo

I finished Pretty Girls this week! It was good -- but a bit too disturbing to read another one like it right after it!
I'm reading "The First Book of Calamity Leek" right now. Interesting (and it isn't a series -- it is the protagonist's journal)

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my wonderful son,  it's bee 33wonderful years. Hope this year proves to be the best yet.
