Friday 56 is hosted by Freda's Voice.
"She watches New York city recede; the forts of New Jersey salute her departure with cannons; channel markers bob in the swells. A lightship with twin beacons glides past as America recedes; ahead wait the great glittering prairies of the Atlantic."
This is a few lines from the book The Light We Cannot See, I've finally gotten it from the library, it was a long wait, and these lines do not seem that exciting, but... I'm anxious to see what the wait was all about.
Each week, Feeling Beachie lists four statements with a blank for you to fill in on your own blogs.
The statements:
Here are mine:
1. Do I have to wake up.
2. If only I was younger, then I'd learn to drive again, so I wouldn't have to take a bus everywhere.
3. Every girls needs to learn to use basic tools, and every boy needs to learn to cook a great meal.
4. I would love to learn about art restoration but do not want to have to go back to college.

I love the descriptive writing!
I added you to the linky. Happy weekend!
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
Lovely visual writing. I'd like to know more.

I loved this book. I also had to wait for it from the library -- it was well worth the wait :)
I'm hoping to get my drivers license this year. I also wish that I could go back in time to when I was 16, and wish I could have just sucked it up and did the test then.
Oh Martha, I'm so proud of you Martha. I did suck it up and get my license but that's as far as it went. I haven't driven since. I think now I'd fight with my husband to drive, if I were younger. I'm so exhausted from walking and busing everywhere.
I've got this book on my kindle, I've heard really good things about it.
Wow, a National Book Award finalist. This sounds like something my Audrey would like. I think I'll find her a copy for her upcoming birthday. Thanks, dear Irene!!! xoxo
