Saturday Snapshot...

I love tulips, well all bulbs.  And finally mine are up and looking to bloom.  The above painting is on leather.  How cool is that!  I had done this very little piece at the Coast to Coast convention with Brenda Levert.  All wet on wet method, a little difficult for an old dog to learn, but a successful pursuit none the less.  It's intended for a box top.  I think I'll be framing mine.  I did this little class because I wanted to know how to paint on leather, so I could cover my chair and paint stuff on it. And then...

From a wet on wet technique to a dry brush.  This is a floor cloth, 2 x3 feet, it's cut out to the shape.  I love floor cloths,  I haven't varnished this one yet, I'll have to do a little test, I don't want it to yellow, so it's a little bit of a decision.  This was tricky to carry home on the bus, a very enjoyable project.  and then...
an oil, now that was a tricky trip,  it stays wet for a couple of weeks.  I loved this one,  Mary Ellen Locklear was our instructor for this one.

I don't intentionally take classes in groupings like this, but it seemed when I got home I thought, hmm... I took all flower classes.  One year it was cats, and one year it was birds... it gets curiouser, and curioser... Enjoy your weekend.
