Saturday Snapshot... Adventures with Shirley Feeney

Irene and Shirley
The other day (OMG it was Monday, a long time ago) I did a meme re: what new books are you waiting to read when they are released.  Well one was Zentangle.  It's on order.  My friend Shirley and I took a class of tangle, I won't call it Zen.  It was a great class and a pleasant day.  Shirley was kind enough to offer to drive.  I don't, so often these classes are out of my realm of possibilities, and yes I could wake up Handy Andy, but you know that saying, "sometimes I wake up grumpy, sometimes I let him sleep", and that would just take the fun out of my day if I had to deal with grumpy so early.   I'd love to take the Zentangle class from Rick and Maria and am seriously thinking of cashing in my children's inheritance to do so.  It's in Boston a little too far for an adventure with Shirley.  Then I could actually say my piece was a Zentangle.  When I finish my companion pieces to this I shall post them.  Right now, I'm doing a little sign for a friend's business,  ladies room.  I'm quite sure that was very poor sentence structure.

Anyway, Shirley is Shirley Feeney, the original, she was Shirley Feeney before Penny Marshal was.  She's a gifted joke teller.  Each Wednesday in our painting group, Shirley tells us jokes and has us laughing hysterically, the doors are usually closed and I'm sure the rest of the center wonders what goes on there. They better not check our cupboards, they may find some "coffee enhancements". We celebrate birthdays, and holiday with spirit.  I've been part of this group for 15 years now and some of them have been together for longer, and some have heard the fun and joined us.

So this is my Saturday Snapshot.

I've never heard of Zentangle so, of course, I had to do a Google search. It looks likes so much fun, and now I've got to try it.
Love your photo and your post. It looks like you girls enjoy life.

Great photo of you and Shirley! She sounds like a lot of fun.

I never heard of Zentangle before so googled it. It looks like something I might try even though I'm not artsy at all. My sister on the other hand could have made a living from her paintings, but just did it for fun.

Like other people I had to look up Zentangle too and it looks fantastic - and addictive. Well, Boston is even further away from me than it is for you so no chance of me going there!!! I may buy a book on it though!

Wouldn't that zentangle class be awesome? I don't blame you though. I wouldn't be able to cash in my OWN inheritance!

I love fun creative moments with great friends. I can almost remember when that happened last...

I've never heard of zentangle until today and as you know I am not artistic in that way but honestly dear Irene, that looks addictive. I like what you and Shirley did. I hope you get to go to Boston and take the class. Dream big or stay home. Or something like that. xoxo
