Thursday Thoughts...

By Thursday in the week, I'm ready for a session with my washing machine, not necessarily a pleasant adventure, but certainly necessary.  This activity offers me the opportunity to think, sometimes too much.  Today I'm disgusted! Plain and simple disgusted!

Yesterday one of my painting pals, a lovely little lady, who has had a bit of difficulty in life lately had the most appalling news.  On Friday of last she was informed there was a space, at long last, for her husband in a long term care facility.  She was very upset about this, even if she realizes it is so necessary.  She's recuperated from a battle with Cancer, but is still very weak.  While she and her husband, who is in a wheel chair, and she walks very unsteadily with a cane, were in WAlmart getting p.j.s for him, when a young lady, claiming to need "help" to choose p.j.s for her grandfather distracted her and another lady (and I use that term loosely) picked her purse, taking her wallet.  How horrid do these people have to be to hurt these two broken people in such a way.  You can imagine how upsetting this was to this couple. A couple who have been married for many, many years to have seen each other everyday, and now have to make a decision to be separate in your "golden years", it must/be devastating.  So my thoughts today at the washing machine are ones of absolute disgust!  How much exactly do these women need to rip off such a helpless couple, in this most desperate time.

My advice, I'd like to say don't help anyone with a purchase for their grandfather, but you know if you are any kind of a person, when someone asks for help we tend to comply, but be careful.  Horrible people are out there, and they are waiting to take advantage of your kindness.

On a happier note, spring is coming anytime soon, at least in the next 8 weeks.  In the meantime, think blooms.

Irene, that is so sad..isn't it? It is so hard to believe that people would do this to others, especially older and vulnerable people. I too have been pondering life these days after some terrible incidents here lately. One wonders what morals people are growing up with these days!

Sounds like your tennis elbow might be resolving itself. If it is, then it has transferred itself to my shoulder!
;-) ;-(

Take care in the cold. Hope your sister continues to improve.

Those horrible people! Their "sin" will find them out! One way or another. I feel for this couple who will be separating and will say a prayer for them. My friend's parents has to do this and it was hard for everyone.

This broke my heart, dear Irene. It is sad that we must be suspicious of someone asking a simple question in the aisle of a store. But those who prey upon the all-but-defenseless, showing no compassion and no mercy, will themselves someday be defenseless and will be shown no compassion and no mercy. We reap what we sow -- actually, if we sow the wind, we reap the whirlwind, both for good and bad. What these two females did will come back on them in many forms of divine retribution. Meanwhile I pray the old couple will find peace in their later years, and that they still have happy days ahead. xoxo

Their story is so very sad, and then to have those women do that to them. Terrible!! But the Bible says:

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Galatians 6:7

Will pray for the couple!

I hope that thieves and all dishonest people rot in he##. They are only thinking of themselves and some kind of instant gratification, and could care less who they hurt. I am so sorry that this happened to your friends. It is a difficult time for them, now made all the more difficult. I will keep them in my prayers.

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my wonderful son,  it's bee 33wonderful years. Hope this year proves to be the best yet.
