It's Tuesday and I've just finished Albert of Adelaide, now I want a platypus for a pet, well not really, strange book. I felt there was a lot of "action" in this book, not sure what propelled the action. Sure hope Albert finds what he is looking for. One of the comments on the back cover of the book, compared it to Watership Down? not sure where they got that comparison, but maybe we could say Watership Down in Australia.
Here's my teaser:He arrives with time to spare. Reverse-parking, he gets out and the cold hits him. Slapping him hard in the face and stinging his skin. He smells good. Expensive.
These are the first few lines from Just What Kind of Mother Are You?, Paula Daly.
This, like Albert of Adelaide is the authors debut novel. I'm a sucker for beginners. One of these days it will be *S. Vincent's first book. It will be a long post for that one. Better not be a graphic novel, really don't like those.
*S. Vincent is my son.

you seem to read more books than anyone I know except for one of my daughters. love reading your reviews.
I am always on the look out for debut novels.
The only thing that puts me off Just What Kind of Mother Are You? is that it is written in the present tense. I do read books like that but really prefer the past tense. I'll look out for your review when you've finished it - oh and also for a book by S. Vincent! :)
Dear Irene, I live for the day you go to your mailbox and inside is a copy of my first published book. Writing dreams do come true. BRAVO in advance to S. Vincent, and I love the excerpt from Just What Kind of Mother Are You?
Like the teaser!
I hope I too can soon read the debut book from S. Vincent!! And I'm not crazy about graphic novels either.
