Today's top ten is top Ten Secondary Characters. A little more difficult than a lead character so here is my take.
To Kill a Mockingbird, my all time favorite book, and while I loved all the major characters, I really was intrigued by Boo Radley.
The Sugar Queen, Sarah Addison Allen, I enjoyed this book quite a bit, and I must choose two favorite characters here, Della Lee Baker the girl living in the closet, and Chloe Finley, a young woman who is hounded by books that inexplicably appear when she seems to need them.I don't know if Sarah has written a book where Chloe is the main character, but I wish she had.
Sherlock Holmes, any of them, I really like Dr. Watson.
Agatha Christie, Poirot books, I have to say I like Miss Lemon, she's so patient.
The Messenger of Athens, I loved the fat man, but I really got to like the murder victim Irini.
Nancy Drew, any of them, I really liked Bess, I always wanted so devoted a friend as she was.
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Frye, I really enjoyed this book and while I understood what Harold was after, it was well written, I really felt for his wife. I don't remember her name.
The Book Thief, I really loved this book, and while I liked Liesel, I really thought her accordion playing foster father was a remarkable character.
Mr. Rosenblum Dreams in English, I enjoyed this book as well, and I really love Sadie Rosenblum. I love how she remembered special things, I don't think I like my brother as much as she did, and everytime I pull a weed I think of Sadie. You'll have to read the book to find out what I mean by that. Go for it!
So this is it for me for now, I'm sure I could go on.
