Saturday Snapshot... Just dreamin' of spring

No these are not up yet, but I had to remind myself how great they looked.  I don't think I'll have any this year, those darn squirrels.  I could understand if they needed to eat them, but they don't they just pull them out and leave them to not grow.  UGH!  I was at the cemetery the other day and someone had brought a lovely flower box full of these beauties and here's me chasing the rodents away and digging them in deeper.  In my back flower bed I put chicken wire around my flower bed and it seems to have worked, but I can't do that everywhere or I'll be picking my letter carrier out of the wires.  Wouldn't Canada Post like that?  What's he doing cutting through my flower bed, I've already told him to stay out, every time he thinks I'm home he does the all the way around route, but I have evidence to the contrary, who does he think he's messing with, I watch CSI.  Anyway hope the weather where you are is wonderfully sunny and springlike and the blooms are a plenty.

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce from at home with books

On the reading front, I finished The Burning Air, Erin Kelly.  HOLY SMOKE this is definitely going on my list of top ten.  If you like a little mystery and a whole lot of thriller, you must read this one.  Love the character development and the story line was just so gobsmacking in your face,   I'm sure the look on my face made people on the train move to another compartment.  BRAVO Erin Kelly.

On the creative front, I finished my princess chair.  The group have decided it should be called the preparation H chair, when I remember to take a photo, you'll understand why.  I won't have it home for a couple of weeks, it will be in the booth at the Creative Festival along with my cork chair and stool.  Now the request is to write up a little journal of the two transformations and the story behind them.  And I'm finally getting around to making a couple of cushions from some gifted embroidery, my aunt created.  I'm going for a McKenzie Child's look, with a little wild animal print,  the clerk at the fabric store was looking at me kinda strange.

I say put the chicken wire up to keep the mailman out of your flowers! But, I'm mean like that.

Your story about the mail carrier made me laugh. The trees are just thinking about budding here in Ohio. Guess we got spoiled last year. Here's Mine

That is a nice sunny spot of flowers! Makes me wish it was more like Spring here as well...our mail carrier has trodden a path between the fence & the path...shortcuts at all costs! :)

I feel almost guilty that we're already enjoying flowers...however, I'm allergic to most things out there, so the downside is having to take antihistamines...lol

Thanks for visiting my blog.

So bright and cheery! I can't wait to see beautiful flowers like that growing. I can't plant any really, my dog likes to dig everything up. But I love to other people's!

Give it to Canada Post, dear Irene. I feel like telling people when they try to snow me: Me and Bobby Goren of Law & Order :: Criminal Intent are on a FIRST-NAME basis I'll have you know, so would you like to rethink that last answer? And wow, I'm going to get that Erin Kelly book. I don't remember the last time you reviewed a book in such glowing terms. I love a mystery. It is perfect spring weather here. Dogwoods are fluffy, trembling in the breeze. Happy weekend to you my friend.

Lovely tulips. Where in Canada do you live? We were in Victoria earlier this week and it was lovely and warm and tulip everywhere.

You crack me up Irene!! Too funny!
I love the orange of those flowers and do hope you have more this year.

Can't wait to see your Preparation H chair!

Will have to click the link to the book, don't think I've heard of it before.

LOL about your mail carrier! You should set a trap... :)

I've been meaning to read Erin Kelly for a while now; I must do that soon.

Have a great week!

Phew, for a moment there I thought you had flowers before Chicago!

I had to laugh at your letter carrier. I'm on a mounted route (jeeps, not horses!) with a box at the curb so no problem there... however, the gas meter reader has trampled more than a few new plantings. I watch CSI too!

I'm going to try to get to the Creative Festival!!
Canada Post - useless!! I put a path in for them but that didn't stop them from walking through the area between the two houses until I put a tall bush in!!

I just added that book to my TBR list!

Oh, my, congrats on finishing your chair! I'm late here, but I'm sure you've posted a photo...?!
I love your play on words, there, HOLY SMOKES! about the book. I am so ready for a thriller, but I tell myself I must read a science book (right now, for instance). I do give myself too hard a time sometimes. I'll check my library!

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my wonderful son,  it's bee 33wonderful years. Hope this year proves to be the best yet.
