Teaser Tuesday...

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted byMizB of Should Be Reading and it asks us to...

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Here's my teaser this week:
I need a break from Stevie King, so I've picked up another book to escape into. Never Let Me Go, Kazuo Ishiguro.

Laura kept up her performance all through the team-picking, doing all the different expressions that went across Tommy's face: the bright eager on at the start: the puzzled concern when four picks had gone by and he still hadn't been chosen: the hurt and panic as it began to dawn on him what was really going on.  I didn't keep glancing round at Laura, though, because I was watching Tommy:  I only knew what she was doing because the others kept laughing and egging her on.  Then when Tommy was left standing alone, and the boys all began  sniggering, I heard Ruth say:

From Never Let Me Go Kazuo Ishiguro.

Didn't you just hate it when the teams were picked and you weren't the first to be chosen,  I hated it.

Omg this book is so heartbreaking. I wanted to see the movie but I couldn't bring myself to watch it. Here is my TT http://newpaperadventures.blogspot.com/2012/06/teaser-tuesday-june-26.html

You always have interesting books to read Irene...

...and I always forget to write them down...argh...

good to catch up here with you...praying for rain for you...we have too much here at the moment, but that's ok I shouldn't complain because I remember what the bad 10 year drought that we just came out of was like...ugh.

HATED that moment when teams were picked. Even still it makes me really nervous when I'm put in situations where I need to partner up with someone.

I hope you enjoy this one Irene. I've read it but don't remember too much about it. I loved Ishiguro's Remains of the Day.

Oh that book is heartbreaking! Much worse is going to happen than not being picked for a team.

Oh, I have read one(1) of his books and I could not read another. It was incredibly touching and burrows right down into the heart and essence of common experience. Brilliant.

I haven't read the book but I loved the movie, dear Irene. You've made me want to see it again. And I was always picked last or else not picked at all.
