Goodies for you...

I read Carries blog Books and Movies and Carrie posted an interesting question about goodie bags.  In a recent article here Jennifer Egan posts her choices for a goodie bag she would be sending out.  I wouldn't mind receiving that bag, since I haven't read any of the books included.  And like Carrie I thought of what goodie bag I would give out, no new publications, just some books I felt everyone should read.
My goodie bag would have to include some  books that go deep into our hearts.  I'd have to include To Kill a Mockingbird, (Harper Lee) The Book Thief,(Markus Zusak) You are My Only,(Beth Kephart)  King Rat,(China Melville) just to scare the pants off you, The Giver,(Lois Lowry) The Bread Winner,(Deborah Ellis) The Girls,(Lori Lansen) Too Close to the Falls, Catherine Gildiner, The Josephine B. Trilogy , Sandra Gulland, and Lamb, Christopher Moore, The Lonely Polygamist.

and then if you ran out of books to read I have a stack ready to be tackled.

I have To Kill A Mockingbird, but still haven't read it, I know, shame on me. I've never heard of King Rat before, but want to read it now cuz I love scary. I'll be checking the rest of them out.

Your gift bag sounds good to me since I've only read a few of the titles.

I've read about half of yours! And I've heard such good things about the Josephine B Trilogy- I really must get my hands on it.

Some great books in your bag! I've been hearing so much about China Melville lately. The Book Thief is one of my top recommended books.

I tried The Book Thief and couldn't do it. Sorry Irene. But thanks for the rest of the list. I'm always looking for books I haven't heard about and there are several on your list.

You would beat me in any literary trivia contest. And I'm considered well-read!
