It was a dark and stormy night... don't you just love it when a book starts like that. I do. Well last evening, at the end of March, it was a dark and stormy night, as I crossed the parking lot, to get to my bus stop I could hardly see my feet moving in front of me. We've had a blast of winter! All I could think of was my beautiful tulips all up and ready to open to please their mistress gardener. I'm happy to report, once I crossed the border of our neighboring town, the winter seemed to disappear, and my tulips stand tall and still ready to open, no wilting,no freezing just beauty. I'm still in my p.j.s so I'm not going out to take a picture, (my new neighbor is not use to seeing me in this state, I have so much training to do with this one).
Alyce at At Home with Books is our hostess for Saturday Snapshot.
I thought I'd show you a few more shots of the Canada Blooms exhibit. I particularly love the hand bags, covered in "real" leaves and blooms, wouldn't this be a great wedding arrangement, say for the mother of the groom. I wish I had taken notes on who did these creations, my friend is going to be the mother of the groom in July. Yes, the 2nd and 3rd photos are indeed hats. The first of the two is a pumpkin top that had been dried and used, really WOW (was the coment by the judges). I thought I'd freak out my boys and wear something similar for my role as mother of the groom. I understand they are planning a secret service. Drat!

Wow is right! From a pumpkin? Who would even think of that? Love the tulips. We don't have tulips here, but we have wildflowers in abundance right now. Thank the good Lord for the rains earlier this year!
What a pretty way to display flowers! Those tulips are some nice specimens :)
Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for spotlighting these arrangements.
Here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT
I could see birds deciding to live in those hats!
Someone was blessed with the talent gene --very nice.
Oh, I so miss tulips. Thanks for posting!
Gorgeous tulips! Ours are usually blooming by now and haven't even sprouted yet. That pumpkin hat is a bit eccentric! :)
Great looking decorations.
What beautiful colors on those tulips--like flames!
Tulips have always been a favorite of mine!
I'm convinced that Canada does blooms like no other. My grandfather started a landscaping business in Toronto and has the most beautiful garden. I also have fond memories of visiting a Cullen Gardens around Toronto but without looking it up I'm not sure exactly where it is. Of course, that was also probably 20 years ago?!
Beautiful tulips!!
Oh, this reminds me of when I watched the royal wedding. I actually liked some of those hats! If there's any time when it's fun and appropriate to indulge your preen, it's wearing a pretty little (over the top) hat at a wedding!
