In the Sunday Salon today, I thought I should be posting my very slow progress of the furniture I'm transforming for my "salon". What a slow process. I have to work on several projects at a time since watching paint, glue or varnish dry is a waste of time, consequently I've got a whole lot of projects going. My friendship chair is well on it's way, I've stripped, reglued and by that I mean taken it completely apart and drilled and redowelled and gluded all bits together, refinished show wood and now webbed and padded the seat and on to the back, all this while stripping and banging apart and preparing to redowell a bench. I'm getting pretty good with a chisel and a drill, if I could only remember to get my fingers out of the way of the saw. I would like to use cork for the upholstery fabric on the friendship chair. The bench I had hoped to cane the seat, but alas it's too big an area, I'll have to come up with something else. Then there is the settee that I've ripped fabric and springs out of and all ready to re-enforce, and then more... A little overwhelming, but then again what would I do with all that time I don't have... On Wednesday my husband and I did a major cleanup of his grandparents grave site, we were both so sore the next day, you'd think we were a 100 years old. So you can imagine when I arrived at my mother's nursing home and discovered that there was a very large donation of books for mom/me to add to the library, thought I'd be crawling home, but there were so many good titles I couldn't help but feel excited for my ladies who might read something newer. I'll be doing a major reshuffle of the bookshelves as well as a used book sale to clear some much needed space. It's going to be a busy week at my son's school so I'll be making myself even more scarce than usual And for this weeks menus well, something exciting would be good, probably salmon with pears and bluecheese, and apple lasagne(goes great with ham) and I really need to bake something. And that's my week in retrospect. I did get boots for my boys.

Gosh - you are busy!
The book donation sounds a pleasure and maybe less tiring than furniture renovation and cleaning up the grave site - but that must have been satisfying too.
I don't know apple lasagne - how do you make it?
You're an industrious one, dear Irene. All I seem to be able to do since getting home from my trip last night is sit around wondering what to do first. Or next. I think it'll have to be laundry and dishes, then beyond.
You're also so busy and productive. I need to learn from you.
