My poor kitty! He freaks out with the vacuum cleaner, so you can imagine how exhausted he is not even moving with my vacuum right next to him. Yes he's earned his keep this past night. He's been on night shift. We've got a mouse in the house, and he's been watching carefully. Well our mouse, and I didn't know I had a mouse, I just thought the cat was losing his marbles, has been VERY weird this last two days. Each morning I go down and clean his litter box, throw in a load of laundry, and then go up for breakfast. Well when I went down on Friday morning he was standing next to his litter box, complaining, I just thought he be in a hurry to do his business, but then when I brought the soiled stuff up he followed me and continued the rant. I didn't pay any attention, just tossed the bag in the garbage pail outside and went on with the rest of the routine. I thought he settled down, because he went back downstairs and I had my breakfast and left for the rest of the day. When I got home I got such a scolding. Ignored him. Well about 11:30 p.m. he was really going on and on... so my son followed him down stairs, all the while we're saying "yes Lassie we know Timmy fell down the well" but he just wouldn't stop. Well low and behold he had a baby mouse in his litter box, and I guess he had to pee. We cleaned it up, and all I can assume is that the bag my "husband" brought in had a mommy mouse in it and she gave birth and I threw her out with the trash and this was a leftover mouse, because there were two more in the clean litter bag. So you see my poor cat is exhausted, he's been on night shift all night making sure no more mice go into his litter box. Happy Saturday, now I'm going to throw up.
Snapshot Saturday is hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books. (not all participants have icky stories to tell)
P.S. have to add this, after posting the search began as to the point of entry. Viola, the dryer vent blew away and I have a gaping hole in the side of the house. And handy Andy is out of town, guess I'll figure something out myself.

that's quite a story! Your poor kitty!
Quite a story. No wonder he's exhausted.
I feel you pain and trying not to chuckle.
That is icky, but what a great cat!
(Just to let you know, the link you left goes to one of your other posts.)
Thanks for participating!
Oh, wow! Your cat certainly did earn his keep!
phew! that sounds like an exhausting night. No wonder he's crashed on the carpet like that ;)
lol cats are such funny creatures. glad everything got sorted and yours sounds like he deserves his rest.
I wish I had a cat to protect me from critters! Great shot!
Oh, my, poor kitty....I remember a time when I had mice...I think there turned out to be around five or six in all. I borrowed my daughter's cat to patrol the house, but those mice were elusive. It took weeks, with those glue traps, before they were gone. I was exhausted!
Great shot.
Poor kitty, but great story.
My sister once had two cats that hopped up on chairs to get a better view of a mouse stealing their food. She never could get them to chase it.
Your cat's almost camoflauged on your rug! Poor thing, he looks wiped out!
Poor exhausted kitty! But doing his job!
Here's my snapshot: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2011/04/saturday-snapshot.html
Shame on you for not paying attention..LOL Our cats also hate the vacuum.
One day about 6 years ago we had a mouse in our house and all (4) cats were lying on the floor in front of the frig....so I stuck on of those "have a heart traps with peanut butter on the side of the frig and the following morning he was alive but trapped. It felt good to let him outdoor alive...LOL
Oh the poor dear! He had quite a few days. And it seems like you have had quite a drama filled week.
What a cat...that's great, can I borrow him? My daughter says there is a mouse here...I have set a trap!
I'm glad I only get mice in the garage because I don't have a cat to protect the house! That was a fun story even if a little icky.
Your kitty has been working hard! I don't know what I'd do if ours found a mouse - shudder.
Posts like this remind me of why I started reading this blog. When you put the word "husband" in quotes and then use terms like "leftover mouse," I just sit here and guffaw out loud. I do believe you are the single most original blogger I've ever read, dear Irene.
Happy mouseless days and I sure hope kitty gets rested up for the next adventure.
I hope you get that fixed. I'd throw up too.
