If it weren't for Venitian Blinds it would be curtains for all of us...

I've been trying desperately to catch up with my household duties.  My son's room is painted, the blinds are up and the closet rods are back up but... My son is in an English program at university and the books are piling up, so I got him four large bookcases, all needing assembly.  I figured today my husband and son are home I'll set them off to put these together so I can finally get him and them out of my living room.  On Monday I started his curtains, but in the mean time figured I'd get the books out of my paper arts room and such.  Well you know when men just don't want to do something.  They couldn't find something to do outside of the house fast enough, both of them.  We've had a major Spring snow storm and yet that was a more pleasant prospect.  Guess what, I didn't do it either.  I'm drop dead tired and I'm on STRIKE.  Do you ever get tired of being the co-ordinator of lives.  I sure am.  And then, we're expecting an election to be called within days, and I've been busy. YIKS! So tomorrow I'm going to have some "hammer time" I've almost finished with restoring the wood on my chair, sanded for 6 hrs. on Tuesday.  Nobody is sitting on this chair.  So I really just want to make curtains that are "short" how short should short curtains be.  You see I have this cat and if the curtains are long as they are in the photo above, the cat hairs are a constant concern.  My window, or should I say the window in my son's room is not this tall, and there is a desk/ or chiar in front.  I'm thinking half the distance between the floor and the window sill.  I also love the giant gromets are they still "in".  O.k. off to turn off tomorrow supper and then some sleep. Maybe.

P.S.  I have to add a little something, After flipping out on Wed. (my painting day, real painting, not walls, and yes I painted them walls myself, with no help, even carried the gallons of paints needed) I hate giving up my painting day, Thursday when I got home those annoying men had the book cases together and in the room,  I guess they wanted their supper.

Ah ah Irene :)
Baci Myriam :)))

OK I just left a 500-word comment but it wouldn't post it and took it away. When will I ever learn to copy those for future pasting should the need arise?

Maybe I'll come back later and say it all again. Right now I'm feeling marginalized, dear Irene.

Dear Irene, I just got the ecard you sent me a few days ago. I'm so sorry. My Outlook email account is all but worthless so I use my Yahoo one now. I sent you a reply and I hope you get it! I haven't forgotten about sending you my articles.

What I had written awhile ago was that for her birthday this year (it was two days ago), we are helping our daughter Audrey redecorate her apartment. We bought her draperies with the big grommets and TG is going to paint her place when we are with her in Tennessee over Mother's Day weekend. She's excited about the changes. I spent an hour inhaling dust at TJ Maxx the other day, trying to find four panels (a lot like the ones in your picture) that matched and fit the description of what she wanted! I prevailed and soon she'll have an updated crib. Good luck with all your projects, you brave woman you!

Gosh, you have been busy, but it must be a great feeling getting so close to it all finished.
Did you paint the room yourself Irene?
Ah, they'll come good...they always do...and appreciate all you have done!

Making curtains with grommets?! You're more ambitious than I would be! LOL. Perhaps a length just a tad longer than the window would be good.

Irene...you are a super mom! Can you come over and make some curtains for me. (LOL! Just kidding). I'm really hopeless with sewing machines.

I think you deserve a time away from home to energize.

Thank you all for listening, but a nap or a time away from home is not about to happen. I'm thinking the place is on the verge of condemnation.
