It seems I'm always in a hurry and then I find myself waiting. I was rushing to my mother's, got off the train/bus and was once again left behind by the bus I needed to connect with. Once again whilst waiting in the smokers bus shelter, I couldn't take it anymore and stepped into the antique store. I really do try to not go in there, my house is fuller than full. Anyway I spotted this little framed piece. It reminded me of the post Carmi did with her cutouts from Paris. I thought for sure when I brought it home the image would be paper. Alas it is not! It's painted on the reverse of the glass. Well I wasn't too keen on the frame or the paper behind the image, and thought it would look great against a deeply coloured wall. No, I didn't paint the room to accentuate the 6in X 8in framed piece.
I did however do this. My powder room is painted flaming red, a comprimise with my son, I must say any art really does look great in there. But how much art can you put into a teeny weeny powder room? Should I just declare that good things come to those who wait, (not in smoky bus shelters).

I really like what you did with this picture Irene. The way the wall colour acts as a background is very effective. My sister just had part of an old communion rail framed for my father, and the framer did the same thing.
