All about yesterday...

Well I had good intentions.  My settee was going to be ready to repair and all. Not so.  It had been reupholstered previously to my owning it, and they have a million and one staples in it.  Generally in an old piece you find upholstery tacks, which are a breeze to remove. After 3 hours of pulling staples I went to lunch.  I did however, take apart and begin to clean glue up from the accompanying chair. Not so hard on the old shoulders as pulling staples, but my feet were killing me. Standing for 7 hours will do that, and this is the short bus/train ride home.  I must say though I think I might have swallowed a lightning bolt.  I left the workshop at 3.50, and went across to the market for some fresh fruit and something other than chicken. Got all that, and walked to the train station which I thought was about 15 min. away, and still made it for the 4:15 train. Hmmm.  I thought I'd get home around 6 and here it was only 5:15. So supper was at a reasonable time.  Lightning I say, I swallowed some. What's on tap for today, some gentle painting strokes for me, while visiting my mom. She doesn't always let me do this but I try everytime. How about you? And it's leftovers for supper.

On the upside, I finished my Christmas ornaments. On the downside, I'd hoped to add the strings and such to them while visiting with my mother, no way Jose.  She just was not in a good way and the whole visit was reassuring her she was o.k. Such is life. And then when I got home many hours after dinner time my sweet family was waiting to be served.  Couldn't you just scream.  So supper was at 9:45 p.m. like the rich people.*

*When my nieces were little and we'd be watching Dynasty or Dallas, the show stars would be having a very late dinner, and they always thought that time slot was reserved for the rich.

Girl you've got to teach those guys to reheat leftovers in the microwave. You had a long hard day and no way did you need to be serving grown men at nearly ten o'clock at night! They needed to be drawing YOU a bubble bath and massaging your tired shoulders, and waiting on you hand and foot for you are a treasure, dear Irene!

I'm so impressed that you can re-do that chair. I think I would have given up when I saw all those staples.
