Happy Postcard Friendship Friday, happy indeed

Yesterday I hinted a another mail delivery, Nancy, thoughtful Nancy, sent me a bundle of these funny postcards. I had to post these two together. My sister from whom I hear everyday of the year except when she's on vacation, Alice and her husband are off on a sunny holiday, a much needed one. Alice will lay on the beach, and enjoy the people watching. By the time she comes home she will know everything there is to know about everyone at the hotel/resort, and quite possibly the surrounding town. I think she should have been and investigator or at least James Bond's backup man. If she weren't such a chicken that might have been a career choice.

Mitch on the other hand doesn't know how to lay around so he'll be playing any games that are happening, (the recreation staff love him). But I'm sure he'll enjoy the scenery as well.

My phone will probably not ring at all this week.

Many thanks to Nancy from All Pulped Out, isn't she sweet for thinking of me.

And a big thank you to Beth for hosting Postcard Friendship Friday

I've been reading reviews of books that are "suitable for laying on the beach and reading", I was so tempted to go along on a beach trip, except I really don't enjoy travelling. I may splurge and buy myself a chaise lounge and sit on my porch. Veranda Beach isn't it, no need to pack, no need to make arrangements for animals or children, or husbands, etc. My problem with a chaise lounge is I have no where to keep it in the "off" season. Maybe I'll just read in my living room, stick my feet out the window and lay on my sofa.

Have a great Friday, I'm off to my mom's so I'll be brain dead by the end of the day.

I have to add I'm not brain dead from my mom today, she had a good day, we actually had a real conversation, you wonder how the mind works sometimes don't you?

I suppose it depends on how hot it is where you live. It is so cold and foggy in San Francisco, this July, I love the idea of a hot beach, or even my feet out the window into hot air.

I like to sit on my old folding webbed aluminum chaise. I like sitting in the shade, under a tree, and be cool.

That's what vacations are for: rest and relaxation, as needed. :)

The cards are wonderful!

Enjoy the sun while you can - just drag a chair out and read outside! That's what I've been doing the last couple of weeks while I've been recuperating.

I get a kick out of the old-fashioned leering in these postcards.

I'm amazed, too, at the human brain, how dementia affects it. Sometimes my mom is there, sometimes not.

My escape today was the lounge chair in the backyard, reading George Hamilton's memoir. Silly and over the top. Highly recommended.

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my wonderful son,  it's bee 33wonderful years. Hope this year proves to be the best yet.
