Postcard Friendship Friday

Marie at Vintage Postcards - cpaphil hosts Postcard Friendship Friday. I love this meme!

I don't know where to begin with this one, as you may have read I've really gotten hooked on the reading blogs. I love to read, but I rarely give myself permision to sit and do so. It seems I always have too much to do and not enough time to do it in. Well, as I'm getting older and observing more, I'm thinking "heck with the dust, let's read" well in my pursuits I discovered this postcard. The Myrtle Tree Legend, I don't know what the legend is because the print is so very small that I can't read it. So I'm thinking is my vision getting so bad that my reading is being compromised. Put the book aside and decided to wash walls and ceilings and cupboards in my kitchen. Whilst doing so I came across the ceiling fixture which too needed a cleaning. When I took the fixture off, I discovered that there was only one light bulb in a three possible bulb outlet. My husband is a very lucky man, he was not home. He's very frugal, so here I'm all upset that I can't see, and there just isn't enough light. So that problem solved. I must tell you what I know about the legend of the myrtle. Myrtle in our Polish heritage, or so I've been told, is a good luck plant. Baby's have it pinned to their christening gowns, brides to their veils. Well, when my niece was getting married I went out and bought two plants for my mother to keep so we would have enough to put into the brides bouquet as well, I don't know if this was the dementia already rearing it's ugly head or what, but, when it came time for me to take the myrtle my mother "really" didn't want to give it. I'm a little bossy and took it anyway. On the weekend of my nieces wedding, we had a blackout, rehearsal was by flash light, and then just as the photographer is about to arrive a flash thunder storm. Some Luck eh! Well me being superstitious as I cannot help being, picked up the myrtle and returned it to my mothers home. Of coarse she didn't know this and was checking out my nieces bouquet and wanted to know where it all is and she proceeded to carry on. So I told her I gave it back, we were about to have a domestic when we were interrupted, I don't think she talked to me for a week or two and that was fine. So that's my take on the "Myrtle Legend" P.S. my wonderful niece is living happily ever after so...

Happy Postcard Friendship Friday
