Happy Days indeed...

When the series "Happy Days" started I was in college, we had to watch it for our "Women's Studies Class". It was quite a controversial show. When I mentioned this to my son, who is in English Studies now, he laughed. And no we didn't watch while the dinosaurs were asleep. It was not so long ago. I now watch "Mad Men" I can hear Miss Stevenson (our typing teacher) saying all those wise things that head secretary in the steno pool says to her subordinates. I think Miss Stevenson even wore her hair in a similar fashion. We've come a long way baby or have we? Now that controversial show(Happy Days) is aired on the Christian Television Network. What brings this up you ask? I'm waiting for my floor to dry, so I flicked on the TV and there he was the FONZ. I've suddenly realized that my house is extremely dusty, we need a new furnace. I keep telling my husband to get on it, but you know how it is, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I remember a similar time when I made it clear action was needed. When we first were home owners we lived in a home whose electrical connections for what ever reason could not accommodate a dryer. So since we couldn't afford a lot of things I hung my wet clothes on a clothes line. Well on cold an blistery Thursday morning (laundry day) I hung everything out and went to work ( I work afternoons because the morning sickness just made it easier to travel).
When I knew my husband would have come home from work I called and asked him to bring the laundry in before it started to snow. I must tell you, you know that poor wiring and the "we can't afford it" gone. I had a dryer installed before the next laundry day. So I'm thinking, I'm going to get this man to do some vacuuming and dusting, and we'll see who gets a new furnace. So we have come a long way baby!

I love how you think! I kind of do the same thing, like for my refrigerator, my husband likes a cold beer now and then and I'm tired of things not staying so cold in the frig. part, and the ice cream could dent a brick, SOOOOOOO I stuck a few beers in the freezer part, well, Um, lets just say....the opposite happened and the beer kind of froze, I but them back in the frig. so he wouldn't know what I did! hey a girl has to do what girl needs to do, but it worked, he then realized I was great need of a new frig. Hope you have a sweet day!
Hugs~
