Abandoned... Running With Scissors
I felt I should read some non-fiction, I mean really, there must be stories out there that I would enjoy. Well this was not the one! Hated it, didn't finish, felt my time was too valuable to waste on it.
Thanks for the review Irene! Sorry you wasted your money and time on it though... hughugs
PS- in Case this comment makes it to you, the new word verifications is almost impossible to read and makes it terribly hard to leave comments...If you don't hear from me in the future much it's because I can't make out the words to type them in, even after repeated tries.... hughugs
I know I should have read this book, too. But I was afraid it would remind me of my childhood. I've confronted that many times. I need to let it go, now.
It is good to abandon books if you're not enjoying them. I personally liked this book but I can see that it wouldn't be everyone's taste. He had a very strange story. Why don't you try some Bill Bryson or A.J. Jacobs or Mary Roach if you want some non-fiction reads?
Great to catch up here Irene. Good to know that one can abandon a book if necessary. I don't do it every often, but the older we get the less we need to waste time reading something unnecessarily.

I don't care for that book either, but both of my parents loved it.
You were wise to abandon it. It is truly a hideous book. And it's supposed to be true. ~shudder~

Happy Weekend to you!

Sorry it happened to you. Oh well, move on to another book.

Hope you have a great week.
Loved the prayer for dementia patients...lovely!
It's rare that I'll read a non-fiction book purely for enjoyment. There have been a few though,,,,
You know what, dear Irene? I watched the movie from that book when it came out, and talk about two hours I wish I had back. AWFUL.
