It's hotter than Haiti out here, and I'm posting a summer costume. My cousin knows I love history of costume postcards so she sent me this one the other day. This is a dance ensemble, look how far apart they are "all in the name of propriety" Can you imagine a couple dancing like this with this much on today. We went out for dinner on my son's birthday and the hostess had on a nightie, one like Betty on Mad Men wears, now if she had on the whole set it might have been o.k. but I don't even think I wore something that see through on my wedding night. So if this is how one can dress for work, what does one wear for an evening of dancing?
Please don't think I'm a prude, I've had my day of strapless and such, and I burned my bra along with everyone else, (I've recently put it back on, you know that song, if your boobs hang low, can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow.) but I'm not sure of the this spooning way of dancing , have we gone too far?Happy Postcard Friendship Friday, be sure to check out the other participants at The Best Hearts are Crunchy.
