It's Monday what are you reading?

I've just finished reading The Bear,  based on a true story, a true inexplicable story, the story of two children left to deal with the elements after their parents are killed by a black bear.

My thoughts:  I was intrigued by the idea of a true story and the fact that in May I read Canadian Authors, but I have to say about 3/4 of the way through the book I wanted to slap Anna upside the head and say you should be more mature than you are.   In the end it was a good book, not great,  I found the childish monologue very tiresome.  I too found that the insinuation of infidelity of the parents was a bit unnecessary.  On the other hand I did find the love between parent and child endearing.  Children really do see their parents as wonderful, at that age anyway.  The sibling thing,  again a little exaggerated.  I was in que at the library, for this book for sometime, I'm going to say it was worth the wait.  I'm glad I didn't buy it. I'm sure I will not re-read it.  Don't get me wrong, I did like it, I just didn't love it.

Up Next:
anxious for this read,  I understand the relationship between animal and human.
anything with a mysterious tea pot must be a good read.  I don't read the book descriptions, so it's a surprise.

Mailbox Monday

It looks like I've joined the What An Animal Reading Challenge, subconsciously.

I listened to The Bear on audio and the attack scenes were chilling. I hope you like Tell The Wolves I'm Home as much as I did.

I felt the same way about The Bear - Anna seemed too young for her age and her voice grated on me after a while.

I really liked the white giraffe, such a wonderful story. I'd like to read the other two too. they both sound good.

I haven't read any of those but how intriguing. Recently my daughter and I went to a bookstore because I had a bee in my bonnet to read a certain title, dear Irene, and nothing would do but to find it and buy it in paperback form, but alas it was not available. Instead we pillaged the free bins outside the door (although it was 90 million degrees with 250 percent humidity) and we each came away with three books! One of mine is about Elvis and his women, and it's really good. LOL I'm not even a fan. Not remotely. But I do enjoy biographies.

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my wonderful son,  it's bee 33wonderful years. Hope this year proves to be the best yet.
