Smells Like a Rose... For Your Tomorrow

It's a bright sunny day here in the GTA, COLDER than the North/South POLE, but sunny.  I've been nursing a "tennis elbow" over the last few weeks, and there are a few things I have difficulty doing.  SO, today Handy Andy cleaned the bathtub, first time in his life.   I'll bet he didn't think bathtubs need cleaning, after all, "it's water pouring down" and rinsing off.  Of course he was sweating bullets by the time he sprayed the cleaner on, and missed many spots (which I directed him towards).   So the bathroom , "smells like a rose", well maybe not quite, but certainly cleaner.  No on to toilets.
Of other news, my youngest is doing his TA in a classroom beginning last week, early 8a.m. class, darn near kills him.  It's a 90 minute commute, and he's NEVER late. There are no fingernails to speak of, and dark circles around his eyes, I don't think he sleeps Monday night, worrying and then chews his nails (what's left of them) all the way to town.  Oh the grown up world is so difficult and it starts so early!

I'm still reading For Your Tomorrow,  it's a difficult, emotional read for me, but one I'm glad I'm sticking with.  Canadian author, Canadian subject matter, Canadian thoughts.  I don't come across such writing often, can't remember who recommended this book, but I'm so glad they did.  If it's you?  Thank You.

I also had the opportunity to listen to an author of Prisoner of Tehran.  My mother was in Tehran, and often talked about it.  She wasn't a prisoner, she was a refugee, and lived in those tented refugee camps, we often see on the news.  Deplorable conditions, crowed, dirty and hungry. So I was anxious to hear if things had changed today.  Apparently they have gotten much, much worse.  All the while my mom talked she did mention that there were good people, and so did the author Marina Nemat.

I've resumed my furniture refinishing activities, modified to accommodate my elbow, but back on somewhat of a routine.

My sister Donna is at home!  She's still got a very long way to recovered, but she's at least sleeping in her own bed, and eating the food she likes.  She's having some therapy come in and that's a good thing.  We are VERY GRATEFUL.

As I sit here writing this post, my cat is enjoying the sunshine,  he's frying himself on the ceramic tile in the hot  sun, and snoring very loudly.  I had to stop writing to check out what that noise was.

Keep well and keep warm.

So great about your sister Donna. Lovely to hear!
Bad luck about your elbow. I know how you feel somewhat as I damaged my shoulder again while playing cricket with the grandchildren in Melbourne. Just when it had just got better from all the moving last year! ;-(
Hope yours gets better very soon.
And have a great weekend and week.

Interesting facts about your mother in a refugee camp in Tehran, Irene. I wonder how long she had to endure such conditions?

So interesting about your mom's experience. Inspirational too. I'm so glad to hear your sister is at home. Wishing her all the best as she recovers.
Good luck to your son ;-)
Hope your elbow heals soon but not before your handy Andy becomes adept at cleaning the tub, lol.

I know how your elbow feels, mine has been hurting too. I told my son and husband I have "mouse" elbow since I've been on the computer so much the last few weeks.

Good luck to your son. Thanks for sharing a little bit about your mother, so interesting. Glad your sister is home!

Dear Irene, what wonderful news about Donna. It's my opinion that few things are more therapeutic than one's own bed and one's own pantry. Thank God for answered prayer. I also commiserate with you about your tennis elbow, although for me, it's more of a tennis shoulder. Best wishes to your youngest in his difficult commute and intense foray into academia. That's a hard row to hoe and I am sympathetic. And I didn't recommend the book, but since you're enjoying it so much, I wish I had. xoxo

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my wonderful son,  it's bee 33wonderful years. Hope this year proves to be the best yet.
