Sunday Salon... Ice storm

it's icy out there, taken through my screened in window
Time: 11:09 a.m. Sunday, some are still sleeping, and some of my household are off to work. I'm enjoying a coffee alone.

Thankful : that my sister has made it through the week, with some improvement, little, but some. Also thankful for my sons hanging out at home this season. Thankful for Amazon.ca, love not having to shop in a mall if I can help it.

Looking Forward to: The joyous screams of the wee ones when Santa comes for cake and coffee, and treats.

Reading: Lost Letters, which I have temporarily misplaced and am unable to finish.  This book will complete my What's in a Name Challenge 2013 and my Postal Challenge 2013, and quite probably be chalked up to War Through the Generations, New Author Challenge and most importantly Reading off my Shelves.

Plans for the Day:  Well, I'd like to bake a bit, and get my stuff ready for our Christmas Eve meal, all the while tiding up enough to sit at a semi-clear area, ( I'm still in boxes).  I'm going to send my husband to Cosco, (punishment for not letting me drive). And I'm going to make him come up with a gift for his mother.

What will I actually get done, probably little.  I'm really losing my mojo.

My son (the author) and I watched Misery, with Kathy Bates and James Caan, last night.  So today as he was about to head out to walk to work, it's VERY ICY here, I insisted he take a cell phone, (probably the only young person in the world without one) in case he had an accident and someone took him in and made him write a novel etc.  He took the cell phone and called that he had arrived in one piece.  He works at Home Depot and he's such a responsible young man.  I told him to call in, and he wouldn't since it's an emergency station, they have a generator and stuff in the event of "need".  They'll miss him when he gets published, and doesn't work there anymore.

Then there is my other son...asleep in his bed all toasty and warm.  He works nights.  Closed down last night for Christmas break.

So happy your sister is doing better!

Love your photos with all that snow, you know how much I want to see some out my own windows!

I just can't seem to get my Christmas mojo this year. I haven't even put one decoration up let alone a tree.

Many Blessings to you and your family this Christmas season!

So glad there is slight improvement for your sister Irene!

Don't worry about the decorating, sometimes there are other things more important to worry about!

Looking cold and Christmassy there already! We have just had a lovely Christmas eve dinner with my daughter and her family. Fun and games with three little ones!

Awful storm, we had no power for 2 days or heat. Just flickers sometimes...praying it won't go off.

....have a Merry Christmas to you and your Family.

I'm so glad to hear you are alright in that awful storm that's got everyone at a standstill.

I hope your sister is doing better--I prayed for the two of you last night in the middle of the night.

((hugs))
