September wrap up...

I think I might be  S L O W.  I know I'm dysfunctional, and certainly not focused.  At the end of the month many bloggers do a wrap up of books read.  I will never be that good/quick.  I read The Postmistress at the beginning of the month and   I participated in the Chains Read A Long hosted by War Through the Generation.  It was a month long read along, so I took a month.  While trying really, really hard not to read ahead so my discussion posts were not spoilers, I tried to continue reading This Cake is for the Party.  The book is a series of short stories, and my attempt to read a Canadian author each month.  I really need to know who votes for these award winning books, and how do I get on such a committee.  Anyway on the third week of the Chains read along, I finished the book and read Once.  So that was it for me for the whole month. Three not very long books.   Now do you see why I think I might be S L O W.

The first book I'm reading in October is The Welsh Girl, and then I need to do a R.I.P read, but I can't remember where the R.I.P. host site is.  Help me if you know.   I'll be reading Just What Kind of Mother Are  for that one, and hopefully I'll read quickly and get at least another SCARY book in.   The problem with a scary book is that I may not be able to sleep, and then I'll be even slower, oh well we do what we can.

Just What Kind of Mother Are You sounds like a book that I would have to read during the day. Have a great October of reading.

It seems like you read a little more quickly than I do Irene. I've been a bit slow these days, with the only handy library a little mobile bus type library that comes on a Wednesday afternoon and I keep forgetting!

Slow is good - it was one of my reading resolutions to read more slowly and try to absorb more of the book. I have a tendency to read too quickly - in one eye and out the other!

Carl's R.I.P. blog for reviews is http://ripviii.blogspot.co.uk/

I have the Welsh Girl but haven't read it yet and I've had it a while now - maybe I'll read it too this month.

I see from your Sunday Salon post you've been suffering from a cold - hope you're better now. I've been sneezing for days and generally feeling tired - it must be the time of year.

I'm right there with you these days.

I've been a slow reader lately too, and blame it on a cold/flu.

I did R.I.P. last year, but have too much going on now to attempt it.

Hope you're feeling better!

I can never get an end of month summary done either. I can barely get a year-end best-of post ready by year end! So, you're not alone.

You don't have to read a real scary book for RIP, a mystery is ok too. If you're looking for the main RIP site with the rules and sign-up it's here: http://www.stainlesssteeldroppings.com/r-eaders-i-mbibing-p-eril-viii

to me it doesn't matter how much you read but how much you enjoy what you read. have a nice weekend.

Well it's not a contest, dear Irene. I could not take the pressure of reading anything on a schedule. Too much like school, at which I did not necessarily excel. I do however, love to be inspired. Books do the trick every time, in so many different ways.

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my wonderful son,  it's bee 33wonderful years. Hope this year proves to be the best yet.
