Sunday Salon...you got to be blue, hydrangea that is.

Sunday Salon finds me heading out to the garden.  It's finally cooled down enough for me to pull some weeds.  I know once I get out there it will be hours, which is a good thing.  I'm still not feeling great but, I just can't spend another day sorting out the basement.  I think things are finally dried out, and now it's time to fix it.  I'll need to paint the walls, before the flooring goes back in, and I thought I'd paint/refresh some of the cabinetry, since the space is emptier.

My hydrangeas in the front yard are doing very well, they just need a drink daily.  Those small blue ones are a bargain bin purchase, I had no idea what colour they would turn out to be, kinda nice surprise, this is the same variety that the gardeners say won't bloom again if planted in your garden. Nuts to them eh! I just couldn't throw them out. Just in front of those blue hydrangea are mini roses, which also shouldn't be planted out side, however the bunnies have seen their way to completely eating ALL the leaves and I have these one bloom stems, which are kinda frail, swaying in the breeze.

I've done no reading all month.  I have 6 books out of the library and a stack of newly purchased ones and no mo jo to read.  I'm getting new glasses on Tuesday so maybe that'll do it.  As far as the rest of the week, just more of the same, hopefully we won't be hit with yet another storm and/or heat wave, it's nice to have summer if you can go out and enjoy it.

Enjoy your week, I'll try to.

I know some hydrangeas colors are determined by the acidity of your soil. I think they're gorgeous and now I'm wondering why we don't have any in our yard.

I love the surprise of seeing what color my hydrangeas will be too. This year they are pinkish blue. Last year they were a gorgeous blue/purple. Glad you cooled off a bit. We did as well.

What gorgeous 'hydrangeas' you have....so pretty. My garden is not doing too well....it was but after this horrible flood I just neglected it. I'm too exhausted because everyday I'm in the basement doing something...can't take much more. I'm sure you feel the same.

I love hydrangeas. I think Kathy is correct about the acidity determining color.

Love your hydrangea bloom! And I'm sorry about Marty scampering over and eating things in your flower garden. The little rascal! I hope you get your reading mo-jo back with those new glasses!

Hydrangeas are one of my favorite sights. So fluffy and their colors simply amazing. But dear Irene ... YOU have not read in a month? Now this is an order: Drop everything and go get comfy and read. All the clean-up will still be there when you've devoured several chapters and maybe even had a nap.

Blue is my favorite. So pretty.

I have blue, light pink and hot pink. At our other house I had purple - it was awesome.
