Monday Muse...lilies

As I mentioned in my Sunday Salon, I spent the day in the garden, Sunday that is.  It was perfect weather, not too hot, not too cold.  Heck I even browned my shoulders.  But, once you get out there, I don't get out too early in spring since I have so many perennials, they don't start looking messy until the end of June, but with all this rain, WOW they are a jungle. Boy that was a run on sentence.  Well here's the view when you walk down the side walk

I didn't take a before picture, but in between all those stones grew "creeping Jenny" and while I like the creeping part in the spring, it blooms all yellow, it gets out of control very quickly, so each stone was picked up and washed in a bucket and creeping Jenny pulled out and then stone replaced.  All this work and then I broke a wing.  Now she'll be vintage, she actually is 35 years old. Now for the other 2/3 of the yard.

Sounded like a lot of hard work Irene. Do hope the weather stays nice for you too now.

Love the day lilies, my Mum's favorite flowers. Must have been because she loved to paint them!

Well this Jenny is vintage too, dear Irene. I've been creeping around for a lot longer than 35 years, LOL.
