Sunlit Sunday...

a little bit of sunshine?
Even if the earth thinks it's spring, it's not.  We are expecting freezing rain later today.  It will be a slippery slide walk by morning.  I'll have to find my ice walkers.  Well I'm still cocooning this week, just not much interest, trying desperately to catch up with my laundry, it's not good to not do laundry for a month... catching up is a b___tch, and I'm not terribly interested to boot. I've actually been available to talk with my eldest each day this week, rarely happens, I guess we need each other just now.  My youngest lives at home so I see him, probably more than he would like but...we've caught up on life.  It's a good thing for all.  My husband is still distant... MEN!  The death of a mother certainly takes you by surprise, even when you are more than prepared.  Not a whole lot of reading done, I'm in the midst of "Care of Wooden Floors" hmm is all I can say just now.  It's got cats, so there is a little something there, hoping there is more as I get into it.  It looks like we are definitely going into a Provincial election soon, maybe a woman leader, and while I'm not particularly fond on any of the hopefuls a woman would sure shake up the old boy's club.  Cross your fingers and hope we don't go into full blast mode until May, or June then I could hire University Students that still remember how to read instructions.  Employees are so difficult to find, and all we hear in the news is how there are no jobs, do people really want to work?  This will probably be my last election, my ten year term is done in 2014 and that's o.k. with me.  I'm getting too old for this cr_p. SO as |I look out my window I see this little crocus coming up? go back I want to say, it's going to be freezing this afternoon.  Leftovers for supper tonight, and some paint inventory to do this afternoon, in between loads of wash.  Hope your Sunday is sunlit and relaxing.  Mine will be quiet 'cept for the whir of the washer, and the voice of Miss Marple.

Catching up again here Irene. Good to hear you are having a lazy catch up time.

I have also been catching up with some washing..linen that got left all through the drought, feeling guilty if I washed it. Good to get it done, especially as I think I will be selling and moving soon! A lot of tidying and sorting to be done before then. Help, that's the trouble, being a bit of a hoarder.

Heatwave here...warming up over there!! Must be global warming eh?
;-)
You have been very good working during the election lead-up...I don't think I would have the energy!

There is something hopeful about the little yellow flower busting through the grey. You sound rather frustrated in your post; I hope something better busts through for you too.

I used to do my laundry so efficiently, but I have less enthusiasm for it anymore! I think my mother in-law hit it in the head when she referred to it as a thankless job! It's definitely one that never goes away! The crocus looks sweet- I'm afraid this warmup is hard on the plant life- very confusing! Thanks for stoping by and visiting!

It's good to be able to see the hopeful things in the world around us. I'm behind in a lot of the mundane things around this old house. Hope you have a good week!

I can only imagine what the death of your mother does. I'm sure it's heartbreaking. Take your time and take care of yourself.

I'm madly catching up with the laundry here too. Gosh, I don't think I would have enough clothes to last more than 2 weeks! Hope you are getting things marked off our to-do list.

I didn't know that you held an office. Or perhaps I misunderstood about upcoming elections. It's the same way here in the states about finding good workers. I will resist a rant, LOL.

Best wishes for a good week, sweetie. You deserve it!

Ooh, I love Miss Marple. Do you watch her on Netflix? The little yellow crocus is going to get a rude awakening with freezing rain. But how bravely she shines in the cold.

Oh, it was so beautiful yesterday and today!
I just realized that I was following your other blog -- and you haven't posted on it in a really long time! So now I'm following this one :)

I walk very gingerly over the snow and ice here - don't want to fall. My neighbor fell and cracked her ribs. No one is ever ready for death even though you think you are.

That little yellow bloom is in for a big shock - but then I think its purpose must have been to remind you that spring isn't so very far away.

Oh what hope that little flower has! So brave!!! You go little flower!

And I'm sorry you're not digging Care of Wooden Floors. I hope it comes around for you soon.

And I think it is great that your oldest and you are having some special moments.
