In Memorium

NOWAK, Stefania January 11, 1920-December 17, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family of Stefania Nowak announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, at Wentworth Heights Long-Term Care. Stefania was welcomed into God's loving arms to join her beloved husband, Andrzej Nowak (1978). She will be lovingly remembered by her family. Stefania was an active member at Incarnation of Our Blessed Lord Parish, Alter Society and Catholic Women's League. Stefania was a talented seamstress creating one of a kind wardrobes, especially beautiful wedding gowns. Stefania and Andrzej survived the trauma and displacement of WWII, finding refuge and safety as proud Canadians. She was an avid gardener and excellent cook and caring and contributing member of the Polish Canadian Society. Special thanks to the staff of Wentworth Heights that took the time to love and care for her.

Oh Irene … I'm so sorry for your loss. You were a devoted and loving daughter and I know you did everything to make your mother's last days as comfortable as possible. My heart goes out to you. And I know what it means to lose your mom during this time of the year … the anniversary of my mom's death is coming up and it adds a blue tinge to the holiday season. I hate that we will share this. Hugs to you.

I am so sorry for your loss. We lost my dad on December 29 two years ago, so I know how hard it is to experience death this time of year when everyone else is festive. I hope you find strength and comfort in the love you and your mother had for each other.

Irene, I didn't immediately realize that this was your Mum. I am so sorry. What a time you have had recently then. I know how awful, my Mum passed away on Christmas Eve six years ago...Christmas never feels quite the same. Or in some way the real meaning of Christmas is more real than ever.
Thinking of you and your family. May God bless you all!

You have my heartfelt condolences, dear Irene. I cannot imagine how difficult this has been for you, since I still have my beloved mother. But I cherish this promise in the Bible: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21:4). You will be in my thoughts and prayers throughout the Christmas holiday and into the new year.

I know how it feels to lose a loved one during the Holidays. Five years ago at Easter time both my parents passed away exactly 3 weeks apart and almost the same time in the evening.
