Saturday Snapshot... Remarkable Mother Nature...

On my Wednesday morning trek out to the painting studio I pass a number of very mature trees. And I wonder, do trees get Arthritis, it sure looks that way to me. I thought I'd share a few photos of some remarkably curvy trees.
Lumpy?
some have hidey holes
some have skin issues
some have bunions
some have ankle issues, seriously, how is this thing standing up?
a side car?
twin trunks with ground floor entry?
I'm so inspired by my walk into the studio with these creations by Mother Nature, that I should be able to paint up a masterpiece. Well that's the theory. The ladies were watching me take these pictures as I walked in, and wondered? I suppose I looked like a dog, stopping at every tree trunk, putting down my large bags, and portfolio case... Thank You Mother Nature for a pleasant walk... We use to think our youngest sister was a direct descendant of Mother Nature, what with all the strays she brought home... but then she became Mrs. Clean and that notion went out the window.

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce from At Home With Books. And yes, I would have liked to post these in a mosaic format, but try as I might the old noodle just can't figure it out.  I may need some tech support, but I think he's still sleeping.

They look amazing. No wonder you're inspired to paint them. I love trees - I hope the tree surgeon doesn't get chainsaw happy on them.

Love these trees!! Florida is full of strange trees and I'm always snapping pictures of them. Glad to see someone else who likes trees!

Those are beautiful! It is amazing how the different tree varieties will have odd root growths that seem to be specific to them. I can see why you were inspired!

Once you mentioned about trees having arthritis I could only feel the pain of those poor twisted limbs!

Irene! these are great photos. And I love the idea of having a separate studio to work in. I work in my living room most of the time, which is still very nice and comfy. It's a rainy weekend and I finally have time to catch up with you.

I notice that too about the trees and always wonder what event, probably long in the past, caused each of them to develop such a large bump. I always think of them as calluses, but arthritic trees are good way to put it too.

The knobs give them real character, don't they. Personification personified!

Well aren't you something, dear Irene??? I too enjoy the different woody formations and barky gyrations and trunky acrobatics to be found in trees. Your pictures are fantastic. My favorite is the twin trunk with ground floor entry. In cemeteries I always look for tombstones embedded in treetrunks, seeming to be growing right out of them! There are more than one might think.

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my wonderful son,  it's bee 33wonderful years. Hope this year proves to be the best yet.
