Sunday salon...

It's already 1/2 way through summer, and I haven't read on the beach yet.  Awful! This past week was much like the rest of summer, the highlights being a quick visit with a friend from long ago.  We've known each other since before we were of legal drinking age.  We were in each others wedding parties.   Oddly enough we didn't even order a glass of wine during our meal.  Too busy talking.  I must be needing to clean up my photo file, I thought the above photo was my orange rose, it's a poppy from earlier this year.  I spent most of Saturday in the garden, I have this pesky plant that just won't go away.  I'm hauling out the big guns today, VINEGAR. It promises to be VERY hot today, so I'll probably paint in between loads of wash, and watch some Olympic stuff. I'll bet Michael Phelps is disappointed.  I've been trying to find the beach volleyball girls stuff, watched some of Brazil and MRI play, but haven't found when Canada is playing if they qualified?  One of the ladies in our furniture restoration groups daughter is a player, wonder how she did.  We learned a lot of stuff about the athletes through her.  We were doing a fund raiser for her, because they train so much, holding down a job is quite a challenge. This week I finished reading Private Peaceful, Michael Morpurgo, recomennded by War Through the Generation  Gang, and am almost finished reading The End of the Alphabet   recomended my Trish From Love, Laughter and a Touch of Insanity.  Enjoyed them both immensely.  What's up for next weeks reading The Knife of Never Letting Go, Patrick Ness and I getting one of those folding chaise that I can take on the bus and I'm going to the beach to read.  It might be Veranda Beach but... Have a wonderful week.

The hot streak continues here, so remain camped inside. Can't wait to get up to Glacier National Park in 2 weeks and enjoy some cool air again! Yes, we're going to the Canadian side too for a day! Hey, you can check on the Olympics schedule on the NBC broadcast network's web. A Canadian gal is playing later on this afternoon.

We are watching every tape we've made of the Olympics, even the road races, and it's like a whole other world to us couch potatoes. Exciting!! I thought I saw Canada playing beach volleyball but I was also sewing bookmarks, so not sure. Get to the beach, woman!
