For Today...painting, painting and more painting.

Everyone keeps asking me why I do this Meme.  WELL I say:  not everyone I blog around with lives in my neighbourhood, and I'm always anxious to know what their days are like so I hope they want to know what mine is like.  AND almost as importantly, if I forget what my plans were for the day/week, I can read it on my blog.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... we had a wicked thunderstorm last evening, you could see me running inside with my headboard (which I was sanding), so today is PERFECTION, no watering needed and it's cooled things down to a great temp. around 78degrees.  (yesterday was close to 90 something)

I am thinking... too many things to do today, good things.

I am thankful...for the safe arrival of my friends new grandson, we were worried, his mom got shingles in her last trimester and it was not a good thing.

In the kitchen...I'm pickling... made 18 jars of blueberry/strawberry jam, and today it's beets.

I am wearing...you know what! I think I'm going to delete this line. Why am I always writing this post in my p.j.s? Well my youngest sleeps till 10a.m. when he is not at school or working, and I fell like someday he'll HAVE to get up to go to a job, or school or with his kids, so I let him.  And in doing so I try not to make too much noise, I don't think I type loudly, so I do my posts first thing in the morning and if I were to get dressed, well I too, have to get up too many days at 6:30 a.m. (like tomorrow) I would most certainly be disturbing his slumber.  I'm loud, our home is small...By 10a.m. I usually have my garden watered, my laundry going (it's in the basement), dinner planned and my post written, all in the comfort of my P.J.s. They're nice p.j.s not slinky or anything, REALLY.

I am creating...well, a great many things as usual, at my home studio (the living room) I'll be working on my grandniece's headboard, it's stripped, and sanded, and designed, and now on to the fun stuff.  Tomorrow, I'll be assisting a new addition to the "splatters" with her Christmas in July creation, and I'm in desperate need of a new mailbox, so I've also designed that and now on to unscrewing the lid for easier transport.

I am going...today, probably just to get some pickling spices.

I am wondering...where the heck all these weeds come from, I know I pulled them out

I am reading...Private Peaceful, Michael Morpurgo, I've neglected my War Through The Generations commitment, so this is next.  I finally finished reading The Stand, S. King.

I am hoping...that the new "splatter" is patient with me, I don't like to teach.  I just want to do my own thing.

I am looking forward to...visiting with a friend, on Friday evening.

I am learning...to relax, with my boys decisions about their lives.  Isn't that what I did such a good job of raising them for, so they could make their own decisions,  even if I hate them. (the decisions)

Around the house...mostly a lot of moving things around, since I'm painting in my living room, it's got a floor I can wash if I splash paint on it, I need to move a few things to set myself up.  Hope Martha wasn't planning on visiting.

I am pondering...not pondering today, too busy.

A favorite quote for today...
Women are Angels.
And when someone breaks our wings,
we simply continue to fly...usually on a broomstick.
We are flexible like that
.

One of my favorite things...email, it certainly bridges the gaps for faraway friendships.

A few plans for the rest of the week: after the beets today, the painting and rest of the laundry, I hope to read a little more than I did last week, I have 10 books out of the library, and then August 1st to Sept 1st has to be reading off my shelf again. And before I know it, it will be market day and I'm going to do some counter top pickles.  For sure some peach and pepper relish, and peppers (for Dave and me).  Hopefully I have enough jars. I'd really like to do some pears and peaches up for my eldest but I don't think I'll have enough jars.  Oh dear, maybe I'll buy some.

A peek into my day...  I wish! I could wear those skinny jeans. My cat keeps eating my flowers, so I'll leave you with this tune.
For Today is hosted by The Simple Woman's Daybook.
