Sunday Salon... Bag Lady Coat

I've had one of those weeks, you know the one that keeps you so busy, you're brain dead for posting.  Not sure what kept me busy.  I've dropped my Tuesday workshops, I need an additional day to clean this dump.  That just means I'm cramming more into the other days of the week, and I'm just as tired, my house is no cleaner, and now the dandelions have taken over my lawn.  I finished reading Ophelia this week, what a good book.  I know nothing of Shakespeare, I mean nothing.  You see I was in the commercial high school program, we did a different English reading program, I suppose the powers that be figured secretaries didn't need to know Shakespeare.  Now Ophelia was not a Shakespearean book, it was penned by Lisa Klein. While I enjoyed the Hamlet involvement, I really enjoyed Ophelia's experiences post Hamlet. Yesterday, Saturday I was in our Upholstery booth at the Creative Festival, (hard on the feet and back). Not one of the most outstanding shows I've attended, and I've attended them all.  I think the "new" thing that hit me this year was a recycled plastic bag rain coat.  It's actually called the bag lady coat,
one of Lynda MacPhee's customers made this coat using the LCBO bags, LCBO is the Liquor Control Board of Ontario.  Most amusing. The other big seller was yarn, to make those ruffly scarfs. When I walked into the show they were selling the yarn at $6, then the war began, by the end of the day it was $3.  Of coarse colours by then  were limited.  I got myself a huge cutting mat, and a nifty purse handle, I'll post my creation when I make my purss. What will take me away from reading this week?  Well probably the dirty floors, and the dandelions.  I'm painting for a cure on Wednesday evening, never done that before, but I'm trying it this year.  I'll be wishing my sisters a bon voyage this week.  I'll either read my way through several books or I'll need a new hip by the time they return.  Have a wonderful week.

I know, Irene, the floors always need cleaning and my lawn has its fair share of dandelions too.

I'm interested in your painting cure - I find painting very relaxing, except when I can't reproduce the image in my head - grrr!

Dear Irene, you lead such a varied, interesting, diverse, adventurous, and sometimes strenuous life. I wondered where you were when we didn't have the pleasure of your company on Saturday Snapshot. I hope you take care of yourself and don't forget to take it easy now and then.

Housework and yardwork just get in the way of everything fun, doesn't it?
