My first challenge for the New Year...

The TBR Double Dare

Are you brave enough to take the double dare?

Make a resolution to read only the books in your To Be Read stack from January 1, 2012 to April 1.  Can you survive?

The TBR Double Dare is not a book buying ban. You can still buy books during the double dare, you just can't read them until April 1, 2012.  The official stance on library books is that you can only read those in your possession or on your holds list at 12:00 A.M. on Jan. 1, 2012.

Of course, you are free to set your own rules if you like.  If you know you have a book club book coming up, or that a certain author has a book coming out, you can allow for exceptions. It's all for fun.

To enter just leave a link to your blog in a comment below. (If you don't have a blog but would still like to participate, just leave a comment without a link.)  In your comment, make a pledge stating how long or how many books you think you can last.  Pledge to read one book, read for one day or one week, one month, whatever you like.  The full challenge runs until April 1, April Fool's Day.

Post one of the buttons here on your blog as well if you like.  Please link back to this page to help spread the word.

We all know that no one keeps a New Year's Resolution forever, so when you finally break down and read something not in your TBR stack, please come back and leave a second comment to let us all know what it was that led you into temptation.

That's it.  Just a simple game.

Remember, it's not a reading challenge, it's a double dare
