You'll never believe what I'm doing...

I took a class earlier this summer to re weave a cane seat.  HOLY Smoke, this is hard on the hands.  Apparently it's a dying art,  I UNDERSTAND.

I appreciate what you did! My mother-in-law caned some chair seats the first year we were married (30 years ago, yikes!). She gave us one of the chairs. After all that work, I'm not sure I'd have been that generous! :)

Good for you! Yes, it is quite a dying art! We picked up an antique rocker years ago at and auction and it needed a new cane seat. It took us quite a while to find someone who could do it and he was over 70 years old!

That's interesting. My mom and sister both do basket weaving, but I've never tried anything like that. How many chairs do you plan to do?

I'm not that much of a crafty person, but I admire those who are. My sister used to reupolster chairs.

It alwyas amazes me the things that you take on. I guess you know why it is a dying art now!

Wow! I give you a lot of credit for trying this. My mom tried to do this years ago, but it hurt her hands too much. Good luck!
