Finally Friday...

Well it's finally Friday.  I've been going, going, going all week with not much to show for it.  Sorted through magazines yesterday, it was so hot, I thought I'd spend some time in my basement. I was ruthless.  I'm not even going to look a the very large selection I'm discarding.  All the while it's killing me to get rid of these, "What if I need something?" All I could think of was this song.  My son keeps telling me I have too many baskets, is he nuts?  You can never have too many.  I have too much laundry, that's for sure. That was the other task at hand.  Now it's a 100degrees and I have a stack of ironing.  I haven't even finished one book this week. I have finished painting my front door, booth sides, striped the hinges (hate painted hinges) completely broke the lock, and decided I NEED to paint the front hall. All the varnishes and such in my son's room finally dried. Furniture is back in and now I NEED to buy a mattress and pillows.  Today is my volunteer day, and then my mom's place. So hopefully the bus wait won't be too long.  I'm too old for this long distance travel by public transit.  Stay cool.

and here's my Friday 56...
Mrs. Barker's face went dead white and she swayed in her chair.  I leapt to my feet and held her upright while Holmes went for the brandy.  She never fainted completely, and the spirits revived her, but she was still pale and shaken when we sat back down in our chairs.

Now I'm really curious about what's going on with Mrs. Barker!

Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.

Girl I almost never iron anymore. Where did you get a whole stack? I despise ironing. And in this heat? Fugghetaboudit. I know what you mean about magazines, dear Irene. I rarely buy one but I still have a stack. I don't know why we get Reader's Digest every month because we never ordered it. I think my mother-in-law bought us a lifetime subscription 30 years ago or something. I have huge stacks of them. I need to figure out some way to get rid of them other than dumping them in the trash, which somehow just seems wrong. Stay cool!

hang in there! this heat is RIDICULOUS. forget about the housework for a few hours, no half a day, and just read and relax. you deserve it! :)

Sounds like a good read!

Oh, my, you are ironing in 100 degree heat?! And so much energy, to strip hinges. I'm telling you, I'd love to clear out some of my stuff, but it's hard to even face it. I've been ruthless before, but that's far between.

I hope things feel lighter now!

I love your blog and am so happy to have found it. I love the 'kind of woman' quote and if you don't mind I am going to post it on my blog and give you and your blog the credit.

Hugs, Dana

I think it is funny that authors always tell us that alcohol revives people. I've never been revived by it...maybe the opposite.
