Since it’s Monday, it’s time to take a peek in my mailbox! Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of A Girl and Her Books and is being hosted by Brooke of The Bluestocking Guide this month. Here’s what showed up in my mailbox last week:
We here in Canada are in the midsts of a Postal Strike. Fooey! So my stash of books came this week from a trip to library book sale, and book store.
I have to also admit that a few are not for my reading pleasure. As you may remember, I'm the volunteer at my mom's seniors building library, and I only have a handful of residence that read, but those that do like a little "bam" so I thought this week the theme would be "all in the family" so I picked up a number of copies by the Kellerman's. I myself like Faye, and I've never tried Jonathan but I know at least one of my ladies loves him, he's very attractive. Books for me included The Emerald Atlas, and Migration Songs (my reading across Canada choice). I'm also doing a feature spot in the library "Read the Book - See the Movie" so I got Marley and Me (for my dog loving resident). The last couple are Christmas/Winter books for yet another spotlight. I found since most of the residence require some kind of walking aid it's difficult for them to reach the shelves, so I choose for them and put the books at a height they can reach, it's working so far, they may get tired of it eventually but for right now... July 1st is Canada Day and we'll be "reading cross country" so it will be all Canadian Authors or books set in Canada. I make them book marks, it's sort of my way of knowing if anyone is looking at the books. I can tell you February's love stories was a big hit, as was March's Irish Authors features. For back to school I'm doing the ABC and 1 2 3 of murder, Sue Grafton and James Patterson supply me with plenty on that side.
Last week I finished Coal Black Horses and began These things Hidden, hopefully I'll finish that one, but the housework and garden are a calling. But next Bedtime Stories, Happy Reading.
P.S. that chair their sitting on is my most recent upholstery project, if I stack the books on it the cat limits his presence there and not so many cat hairs to clean, the door behind is from a cabinet I'm trying desperatley to air out it's my |'smelly" project. Check out Visual Vamp for the whole story on smelly furniture.
A More important P.S. Donna over at Cottage Days and Journeys is have a wonderful giveaway do stop by and check it out.

It looks like you found some great books! I hope everyone enjoys them and I hope the strike doesn't last too long.
A postal strike is not a good thing! Hope it ends soon!
Looks like you bought some good books! I keep missing out on our library sale.
Ack on the postal strike. That will affect a mailbox! And I never saw the movie version of Marley and Me but I bet it is fun.

Looks like you have an interesting pile to get through though.
