Lotus Eater, and What's in a Name Challenge...

Well I've finally finished The Lotus Eaters.  This completes my What's in a Name Challenge, and for the life of me I can't seem to link in to the site from which this challenge originated.  Suffice it to say, I DONE.

My thoughts:  I'm always interested in women in a man's world.  This is often mention in the book, Helen was a woman photographer, and that's what was mentioned repeatedly in the book, and then of course love enters the scene in a big way.  I enjoyed learning about the Vietnamese people, and the views from within on the war than everyone wondered why the U.S. was in.  This was a good read, not easy, and certainly thought provoking.  I couldn't understand some of the risks photographers take, but ... that's part of the horrors of war I suppose.  I won't say this is a must read, but certainly a good one.

Photo from the book I own.

Hi Irene
cercherò in Italia questo libro per poterlo leggere anch'io... dalla trama sembra molto interessante.
Ciao e buona giornata :)) ( o lettura ? )

That sounds most interesting. I love and admire the way you stick with books till the very end, even if you are a tad ambivalent. I myself have no talent for suffering through something I'm not totally in love with! Happily for me, I love reading your blog, dear Irene, and wish there were more of it! Keep warm and safe, luvvy!

Oh boy if I could just motivate myself to read more than my pile of magazines I'd be all set with your recommendations. Life has been to hectic to focus much on any of my books of late. Have you any snow yet? We had a dusting this morning but nothing else.

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my wonderful son,  it's bee 33wonderful years. Hope this year proves to be the best yet.
