the art of letter writing...

I've always felt that my handwriting is really bad. Not sure why? But now that I've had a chance to go through yet another bundle of my mothers things, I see it's inherited. (see what happens when I'm sick ) I can also see that it deteriorates as you do it less. I, for myself have been doing my letter writing to my boys on the computer, just so they can read it, and yet I'm really enjoying the written words my aunts and my mother have exchanged. I can almost put them in chronological order by their writing, or rather how it deteriorated, with their rheumatism and sight issues. It brings to mind the Oedupus riddle, As a child man crawls on his hands and knees as a man walks on 2 feet when he has matured, will have to walk with a cane for the rest of his life because of his blindness,... Not really much to do with writing, don't know why this popped into my mind.

So don't be afraid to write, someone, someday may take pleasure in it.

Happy Postcard Friendship Friday, hosted by Beth at The Best Hearts are Crunchy. Postcard gifted from Nancy at all pulped out.

My uncle used to send a lot of postcards from his vacations. His writing became much more readable when he got older.

Thanks for reminding me of the special pleasures of putting pen to paper, Irene. I love to write -- as in, on paper! Also love the computer but there's no doubt really writing is so much more personal. And I'll soon have some beautiful fall cemetery pics for you! Just hang tight, dear Irene. Happy weekend!

Buona serata.

I do think it is sad that the art of letter writing has pretty much disappeared. I found some old letters the other day and it was such a wonderful think to reread them. You've inspired me to write more .. before I lose the skill!
