A-Z Wednesday C... Crocodile Soup

It was a tough choice today, the letter "C". Everybody knows C is for cookie. Well my Book of Great Cookies is so beat up, well used and loved that I dare not scan it and further expose it to the elements. Maida Heatter's the author cook, I think the little joke in the foreword was so cute I must repeat it, "Grandma is such a good cook that even her garbage smells great." Let's hope that all our grandchildren feel that way.

So on to the letter "C" and my choice "Crocodile Soup", I chose this book because sometimes you just need to laugh.

Synopsis
Gert Hardcastle is thirty-something (remember the series) and unlucky in love. As the novel opens, she thinks she has found The One-Eva, who works in the cafeteria of the northern museum where Gert catalogues the Egyptian artefacts. As Gert embarks on her hilarious and poignant pursuit, she looks back on her eccentric childhood.

And then there is the Canadian Scrapbooker. I subscribe to this magazine only because it reminds me that I should be "Doing". The inspiration is only that a great little gal "Lara Brooks" is a contributing paper artist and I've gotten to know Lara a little and have enjoyed many an creative evening with her, so I wait for Lara to give me a push, to get "doing".
