Happy New Year 2017

Well it's 2017.  I usually take part in a writers prompt, even if it's just to practice writing, often not posted here or anywhere.  Well Mama Kat certainly got my title for me. Prompt 3. If the way you spent your New Year’s Eve is any indication of how the rest of the year will go, how would you say your future is looking right about now?

Well the above picture is pretty much what my basement looked like.  I had a pipe burst, it rained all over my furnace, so that had to come off, and all over my laundry and my whole room.   I swept like the best little sweeper you could imagine to get as much water down the drain as possible.  So I sure hope that my future year is not going to be this wet.

and then in the middle of all this...
my beautiful cat is sick,  we thought this was the beginning of the end.  Well he's bounced back, hopefully for good.  Perhaps he was just doing a cleanse.  He hadn't eaten for a full week, just small amounts of water... he even looked like he had a headache.  All I could think of was "what was I going to do with a dead animal on New Years Eve".  So in the end it's the beginning of a great year, my cat is well, my floor in the basement is sparkling clean, all that hot water... and Handy Andy has agreed to put in a new drain/ $$$$ finally.

Oh Dear Irene, how you make me chuckle and grin. I am so sorry about the burst pipe. AWFUL. I cannot stand emergencies. Thank God that's over. Now, the cat ... as you know I'm a bona fide dog person but I feel for you having had a sick pet. How wonderful that she's better. When they won't eat, that is a tragic time. That's how it began for our beloved Javier, whom we still miss so much. But I hope your Christmas was merry. You were thought of often, by me. Happy New Year! xoxo

Happy New Year Irene!

Glad your cat is better and the water is cleaned up. We had a pipe burst too but luckily it was an outside pipe and a quick fix.
