I married a much older man, as you can see, and he's gotten quite large. He's off being Magnum PI or Inspector Clouseau more likely. Sooooooo Sunday Salon finds me trying desperately not to do housework. It's sunny and COLD, dropped off some wonderful chicken soup for my ailing son, and church and home and it's four in the afternoon. My youngest son is at work and he left me a note that he didn't care for my doughnut choice. I thought I'd leave him a note that he ate my doughnut. Can you believe him? I had a good laugh. I'm tired, and I'm going to have a tea, and watch Zoro. I'm still reading Into the Woods, it's a tough one to get through, a little too graphic for me right now. There has been so much death and illness around me that I hate the thought of someone being brutally murdered senselessly. So looking forward to some good news, anything, really anything. I'd really love to hear my "youngest" the doughnut Connoisseur gets into a University of his choice, someplace close enough for him to live at home, what would I do without him. I'm not sure I could do two mealtime drop offs in different locations by TTC. So in the Salon today, some delicious beet soup, and rye bread, tea and doughnuts. I gave up doing laundry on Sundays for lent. But, I may try to make heads or tails out of the stack of books that need shelf space. It's all up to Zoro,if he saves the day... Happy St.Patrick's day, today is 27years that my eldest was baptized. We lived in a tiny little house, with minimal furniture and I cooked the meal to serve, I'm sure there were at least 20 to sit down. I think I even remember the menu, Mushroom soup, pork crown roast, roast potatoes, beans and mushrooms, salad, and I think Walnut Torte, for dessert. My baby was pretty little. He was born January 31st. How did I do that. Oh yes and clover leaf shaped green Jello. Have a good Sunday.

I understand your thoughts about In The Woods. I had to put it down during the illness and death of my father-in-law. I picked it up a month later and finished it.
I'm reading "The Storyteller" by Jodie Picoult and I'm finding the same thing you are with "The Woods." I can only read it in small segments. What horrors the Jews faced during the Holocaust. Beyond imagination.
Well well dear Irene, finally I get to see your pretty face. What a beauty you are, both inside and out. And I'll tell you what, my young'uns know better than to eat a donut earmarked for me. At least I hope they do. Maybe a few fake plastic ants would deflect him until you can claim your snack. As to how any of us did anything we did when our kids were little, that's one of the mysteries of the universe. Oh and as to all my salad ingredients ... my TG and the kids will eat anything, anything I tell you. Except two of the kids won't touch sweet potatoes.

I put In The Woods on hold at my library, but I think I'll skip it until later since we've had many family members in the hospital and 2 deaths in the last few weeks. I'll be praying there is no more bad news for either of us!
I think this is the first photo I've ever seen of you! Nice to "meet" you! You do take good care of your sons. I hope they appreciate it!
